I got my new ST exhaust a few days ago and installed it on my 2k Savage. Wow, what a difference in the exhaust tone and I can feel a bit more power. So far I am pretty satisfied. I do wish the heat sheild they supply was a bit longer so it covered up the yellowing I am getting already. Oh well. I did have the problem with the headpipe not fitting up to the stock location as others have had. I thought about cutting but figured it is the ST pipe that has the bulge not extended far enough back so the cutting the head pipe would really not give me any better fit. I stuffed it on as far as it would go, only used the one bolt in the back and tighted the fitting to the headpipe really good. Everything seems fine, no noticable leaks. The one thing I have noticed is that I get a bit of vibration that I can feel on my left footpeg. I would describe it as a buzz vibration. I am just assuming this is normal with the deaper tone. Can anyone else comment on it? Could it be that the stock pipe mount in the back needs more dampening? Also, is there anything that can be done to get rid of the yellowing/eventual bluing of the pipe?
